# Share bookmarks with Export & Import

> Save your bookmarks to a frame on the canvas or copy them as JSON, and import them somewhere else.

## Goal

Hand your bookmarks to a teammate or move them to another file.

## Before you start

- At least one bookmark in the Bookmarkly list.

## Steps

1. **Open Export & Import** Click Open Menu in Bookmarkly and choose Export & Import.
2. **Export** Choose Export to canvas element to save your bookmarks to a frame on the canvas. Or choose Export to JSON and click Copy to clipboard.
3. **Import** To import from the canvas, first select the 📌 Bookmarkly Data frame, then choose Import from canvas element. To import copied JSON, choose Import from JSON, paste it, pick Merge or Replace all and click Import.

## Tips

- A canvas element travels with the file, so teammates who open the file can import the bookmarks from it.

## Result

Your bookmarks are available wherever you import them.

## Common questions

### Why don't my teammates see my bookmarks?

Bookmarks are stored on your own device for each file. Export them to a canvas element or copy them as JSON, and your teammate imports them.
