# Create an index sheet

> Generate a sheet that lists your pages, sections and frames as clickable links.

## Goal

Give your file a table of contents that jumps to each page, section and frame.

## Before you start

- indexly installed in Figma.
- A Figma file with pages, sections or frames to list.

## Steps

1. **Open indexly** Run indexly from the Plugins menu.
2. **Choose what to list** Use the switches Pages, Sections, Frames and Empty Elements. Pages, Sections and Frames are on by default; Empty Elements is off.
3. **Pick a style** Choose Light, Dark, Plain Dark, Plain Light or uxactly.
4. **Set the order** In the sort menu choose Sort by layer order, Name, Position on canvas or Number of layers. The arrow button next to it flips the direction.
5. **Click Create** indexly adds a frame named Index Sheet. Each name on it is a link to the page, section or frame.

## Tips

- With an Index Sheet selected, turn on Mimic Style to copy its look to the new sheet. You may see the notice Style copied from your old Index Sheet.

## Result

An Index Sheet frame in which you click a name to jump to that page, section or frame.

## If something goes wrong

- **The Create button says Update.** -> An Index Sheet is selected, so the button replaces that sheet with a freshly built one. Deselect it to create a new sheet.

## Common questions

### What does indexly create?

A frame named Index Sheet that lists your pages, sections and frames. The names are links.

### Do the links work without the plugin?

Yes. They are native Figma text links to the page, section or frame, so they work for anyone who can open the file.
