# Notely Sticky Widget help centre --- > Guides, steps, tips and common questions for Notely Sticky Widget, in full. Landing page: https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget --- # Add a sticky note in Figma or FigJam and change its color, tag and size > Place the Notely widget, type a title and text right on the card, then use the toolbar above it for color, size and collapsing. ## Goal Leave a note on the canvas that everyone in the file can read, colored and tagged so its purpose is clear at a glance. ## Before you start - A Figma Design or FigJam file you can edit. ## Steps 1. **Place a note** Open Resources in the toolbar, go to Widgets, search for Notely Widget and click it. A yellow card of medium size appears, tagged Note, with your name and photo in its footer. 2. **Write on the card** Click New Note to type the title and Info ... to type the text. Your text is saved when you click outside the field. 3. **Pick a color** Select the card and choose a color in the toolbar above it: Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, Purple, Orange, Teal, Pink, White or Dark. The tag follows the color, for example Blue is Info, Red is Alert, Green is Good and Purple is Question, until you choose a tag yourself in the editor. 4. **Set the size** Click the size button (Size: S, M or L) to cycle through small, medium and large. To fine-tune the width, hover the left or right edge of the card and click the arrow; each click widens or narrows it by one step. 5. **Collapse it** Click the chevron in the card's header, or Expand in the toolbar, to fold the note to its tag and title. Click a collapsed card to open it again. ## Tips - Select several Notely cards to change their color, size or collapsed state in one go. - The time in the footer is when the note was last edited, shown as just now, minutes, hours or days ago. ## Result A colored, tagged sticky note on the canvas that shows who wrote it and when it was last edited. ## If something goes wrong - **The toolbar above the card is empty and I cannot type on it.** -> Someone has the note open in the editor. Close the editor window, or see the guide on locked notes. - **The title disappeared.** -> A card hides an empty title when it has text, and the title's eye button in the editor can hide it too. Open the editor and type a title or turn the eye back on. ## Common questions ### Can my teammates see my notes? Yes. A note is stored in the file, so everyone who opens the file sees the same card, and anyone who can edit the file can edit it. ### What happens when I copy a note? The copy keeps the content, color and size but becomes a separate note, and its author and time are set again by whoever first sees the copy. ### Which tags are there? Note, Info, Alert, Caution, Good, Bad, Question and Screen, or no tag at all. Choose one in the editor's Change type menu. ## Related guides - [Add lists, quotes, links and images to a sticky note](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-format-note): Open the note's editor to write bullet and numbered lists, add quotes with attribution, link chips and up to six pictures on the card. - [Find every sticky note in a file with All Notes](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-all-notes): Open All Notes to list the file's notes from every page, search titles, filter by tag, jump to a note, and recolor or retag several at once. --- Source: https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-add-note (Notely Sticky Widget help centre). Reviewed: 2026-10-30. --- # Find every sticky note in a file with All Notes > Open All Notes to list the file's notes from every page, search titles, filter by tag, jump to a note, and recolor or retag several at once. ## Goal Get an overview of all notes in a Figma or FigJam file and go straight to the one you need, even on another page. ## Before you start - At least one Notely Widget note in the file. ## Steps 1. **Open All Notes** Select a note and click All Notes in the toolbar above it, or click All Notes in the editor. The list shows every note, newest edit first, with its color, title, author, page and tag. 2. **Search or filter** Type in Search notes… to match note titles. Click a chip such as All, Note or Alert to show only notes with that tag; each chip shows how many there are. 3. **Jump to a note** Click a row to go to the note and select it. If it is on another page, Figma switches page and says "Moved to page" with the page name. 4. **Open a note for editing** Double-click a row, or use its Open note button, to jump to the note and open it in the editor. 5. **Edit several notes at once** Click Batch edit, tick the notes you want, then use Change color or Change type in the bar at the bottom. Selecting two or more notes on the canvas while the list is open ticks them for you. ## Tips - Changing the color in Batch edit also switches each note's tag to the color's tag, unless you chose that note's tag yourself. - Orange is set from the color menu above a note; the list and the editor show orange notes with a yellow dot. ## Result You find any note in the file in a few clicks and can restyle groups of notes together. ## If something goes wrong - **Search does not find a word I know is in a note.** -> Search looks at note titles only. Give important notes a title, or filter by tag instead. - **"This note has been deleted."** -> The note was removed from the canvas after the list was opened. Its row disappears; undo the deletion in Figma if you need it back. - **A note on another page is missing from the list.** -> A note joins the list once it has been shown on the canvas. Visit that page once, then open All Notes again. ## Common questions ### Does All Notes show notes from other files? No. It lists the notes of the file you have open, across all its pages. ### Can I export my notes? Not yet. All Notes shows an Export button, but it has no function in the current version. ## Related guides - [Add a sticky note in Figma or FigJam and change its color, tag and size](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-add-note): Place the Notely widget, type a title and text right on the card, then use the toolbar above it for color, size and collapsing. - [Add lists, quotes, links and images to a sticky note](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-format-note): Open the note's editor to write bullet and numbered lists, add quotes with attribution, link chips and up to six pictures on the card. --- Source: https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-all-notes (Notely Sticky Widget help centre). Reviewed: 2026-10-30. --- # Add lists, quotes, links and images to a sticky note > Open the note's editor to write bullet and numbered lists, add quotes with attribution, link chips and up to six pictures on the card. ## Goal Write a note with more than plain text: a checklist of points, a quote from a user test, a link to a ticket or a screenshot. ## Before you start - A Notely Widget note on the canvas. ## Steps 1. **Open the editor** Click Edit in the note's footer, or select the note and click Edit in the toolbar. A small Edit Note window opens. Changes save by themselves while you type; there is no Save button. 2. **Write a list** In the text field (Write something…), click Bullet list or Numbered list in the editor's toolbar. 3. **Add a quote** Click Add quote section, type the Quote text and, if you like, an Attribution such as the author or source, then click Insert. The card shows it in italics with "— Author" below. 4. **Add a link** Click Add link section and paste the URL. The editor suggests display text from the address; click it to write your own. Click Insert, and the link appears as a chip on the card. 5. **Add an image** Click Add image (or the picture button in the card's footer), then drop, paste or choose an image and click Insert. You can also paste an image or drop a file anywhere on the editor. 6. **Set the type, color and size** Use Change type for the tag, Change color for the card color, and the S, M and L chips for the size. The + next to them adds a new blank note beside this one and opens it. ## Tips - The eye buttons next to the title and text hide them on the card, for example to show only a picture. - Large pictures are scaled down to fit 800 × 600 px before they are stored in the note, which keeps the file light. - While the editor is open, select another Notely card on the canvas and the editor switches to it. ## Result A note on the canvas with your lists, quotes, link chips and pictures. ## If something goes wrong - **My list turned into plain text.** -> Editing the text directly on the card replaces the editor's formatting with plain text. Make formatted changes in the editor. - **"SVG images are not supported"** -> Export the graphic as PNG or JPEG and add that instead. - **A link chip on the card does not open.** -> Only addresses that start with http:// or https:// open from the card, and not while the editor is open. Edit the link and add https://. ## Common questions ### Can I make text bold or italic? No. The editor offers bullet lists, numbered lists, quotes, links and images, but no bold or italic. ### How many images, links and quotes does a card show? The card shows up to 6 images, 5 links and 5 quotes. Anything beyond that stays in the note and is listed in the editor, but not drawn on the card. ### Where are the images stored? Inside the note itself, in the Figma file. Nothing is uploaded elsewhere. ### How do I close the editor? Close the Edit Note window with its X. Your changes are already saved. ## Related guides - [Add a sticky note in Figma or FigJam and change its color, tag and size](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-add-note): Place the Notely widget, type a title and text right on the card, then use the toolbar above it for color, size and collapsing. - [I can't edit a sticky note on the canvas](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-note-locked): A note locks while its editor is open, for everyone in the file. Reviewed: 2026-10-30. --- # I can't edit a sticky note on the canvas > A note locks while its editor is open, for everyone in the file. Close the editor, or click the lock icon to clear a lock left behind. ## Goal Unlock a note so you can type on it, resize it and use its toolbar again. ## Before you start - A Notely Widget note that shows a lock icon in its header or the button Editor open in its footer. ## Steps 1. **Recognise the lock** While an editor has the note open, the card shows a lock icon, its footer button reads Editor open, the toolbar above it is empty, and hovering the text says "Close the note editor to edit text on the canvas." 2. **Close the editor** If the Edit Note window is open on your screen, close it. Opening All Notes or switching the editor to another note releases the lock too. 3. **Ask who has it open** The lock is shared with everyone in the file. If you have no editor open, a teammate may be editing the note right now. 4. **Clear a lock left behind** Click the lock icon. After about two seconds Notely tells you what it found: "Editor is active. Close it to unlock canvas controls.", "Stale lock cleared. Canvas controls are available." or "Could not recover this lock. Please try again." ## Tips - The lock coordinates editing between people; it does not protect a note from being moved or deleted. ## Result The note is unlocked and you can edit it on the canvas again. ## If something goes wrong - **"This editor no longer owns the note. Close it before editing on the canvas."** -> Someone else opened the note in their editor, so your window stopped saving. Close it and open the note again when they are done. - **"Close editor to edit on canvas."** -> You selected a locked note while your editor was open. Edit it in the editor, or close the editor first. ## Common questions ### Why does a note lock at all? So two edits do not overwrite each other: while the editor writes to a note, typing on the card is paused. ### Does copying a locked note copy the lock? No. A copy starts unlocked. ## Related guides - [Add lists, quotes, links and images to a sticky note](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-format-note): Open the note's editor to write bullet and numbered lists, add quotes with attribution, link chips and up to six pictures on the card. - [Add a sticky note in Figma or FigJam and change its color, tag and size](https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-add-note): Place the Notely widget, type a title and text right on the card, then use the toolbar above it for color, size and collapsing. --- Source: https://raiken.io/kb/notely-widget/notely-widget-note-locked (Notely Sticky Widget help centre).
